Greece

The ship stopped in three different places in Greece: Santorini, Mykonos and Athens.

Santorini - Santorini is an island in the southern Aegean Sea, about 200 km southeast of the mainland. We found it very attractive with a consistent architecture of predominantly white buildings many of which had blue roofs. These pictures were taken as we walked around the town of Oia. There is a cable car to take you between the town of Fira and the cruise ship port. There is also a long path where you can go up or down either on foot or by donkey! We took an excursion called "Village of Oia on your own" run by Royal Caribbean for this stop.

Mykonos - Mykonos is another island in the Aegean Sea, but it is primarily a beach location with a party atmosphere. We took a local taxi boat to the town from the port and just walked around. John was coming down with a heavy cold so he returned while Mike and Sharon stayed and walked around some more.

This is the main pier where the sea taxi stops in town.

Athens - Athens was our favourite stop in Greece. We went on a private tour arranged by Marilyn Price using PK Travel, and we hit a lot of the "must see" locations. The pictures below follow our day, starting with the Acropolis, then on to the Panathenaic Stadium, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Athens Parliament Building and ending at the Acropolis Archaeological Museum.

This was the first look we had of the Acropolis. This is the exit which we walked past on the way in.
