San José
San José is a lot different than Arenal or Monteverde. It's very much a big city with the usual heavy traffic and local folks going everywhere. We took the shuttle back to San Jose from Monteverde and used it for our base for the last few days.
In the City of San José - This is a collection of pictures we took while travelling around San José. When we arrived we went for a walk to the Central Market. It didn't seem that far from the hotel but by the time we had walked there and looked around, we were exhausted and needed to take a taxi back. The second set of pictures was taken at the National Museum. We atayed at the Hotel Grano de Oro and there are a few pictures from there at the end.
The Central Valley - We took a tour that combined the Irazù Volcano, Lankester Gardens and the Orosi Valley. These are the valley pictures from that tour combined with some pictures we took with the Kalbuns who we got together with on our last day in Costa Rica.
Irazù Volcano - These shots were taken on the Central Valley tour above. They start with Turrialba in the distance, and then show what we saw walking around the top of Irazù.
Lankester Botanical Garden - This is a botanical garden that was also on the Central Valley tour. The orchids were especially nice. It was a really long day with all these stops.
