Golf

Maui is one of the world's best golfing destinations. With awesome courses like Makena, Wailea, Kapalua, etc. there are few places that can compare. There are also few places as expensive as Maui, so Sharon and I played budget golf this time. We had one game at Pukalani Country Club ($40 US each with cart) and two at Waiehu Municipal ($28). Pukalani is a perfectly acceptable course with lots of challenge and is reasonably well kept. Like most lower cost public courses, the conditions aren't exactly top end, and the course is crowded with less affluent golfers. Waiehu is even cheaper and is a wonderful deal. It runs right along the ocean and has some very attractive views. They allow sixsomes on Waiehu (we didn't see any) but I was surprised by how quickly it played. We finished both rounds in about 4 1/2 hours. We even had a marshall talk to us once because we had fallen one shot behind the group we were following!

During one of our day trips we dropped into Kapalua to grab some more of those cool white ball markers and take a few snaps of the place. Brought back great memories from my last trip and prepared us to watch the Merecedes on the TV in January.
