Brisbane - February 8 to February 15, 2012
We had to make some changes to our itinerary to get into walker-friendly lodgings and the place we chose was about 80 km south of Brisbane in a beautiful little beach town called Surfers Paradise. We really enjoyed staying there but we hadn't realized that there was no air conditioning until after we checked in. We also didn't think about the fact that Brisbane was too far to drive to for site-seeing.
We ate in a number of restaurants in the area (we were getting tired of trying to do our own meals by now) and did a number of little driving and small walking trips. John played one more golf game just to keep the rust from setting in.
We cut the entire trip a week short following Surfers Paradise because the weather up in Cairns was still very wet and we were getting tired of trying to entertain ourselves with limited mobility. When we got back to Toronto, Sharon visited Bill Wilcox (great sports physiotherapist), he examined her ankle and told her it was time to leave the walker behind and start walking normally. So at the end of February we left for Orlando and got away from Toronto for its last snowy month.
