Hawaii again? As luck would have it, my sister Pat was given the use of a timeshare condo in Kauai for a week and she invited us to come and join her. Even though we'd been to Maui in the previous fall, it was too good an opportunity to say no.

The trip gave us a good chance to see family again, along with having a relaxing and scenic vacation. (Hey, what's retirement for if not to relax?)

My overall impression of Kauai is that it lives up to its nickname "The Garden Isle". It is less developed than Maui, and lacks the rustic feel. The two most scenic parts are Waimea Canyon and the Na Poli coast.
