The Galapagos Islands, March 29 - April 7, 2016
Without doubt, this was the greatest trip that we have taken. We'd highly recommend the Galapagos Islands to anyone who loves nature, especially animals, birds and fish. We saw numerous species up close and took hundreds of great pictures.
We decided to do a land-based tour rather than a cruise because we concluded that a cruise would be too hectic. With a cruise you have a limited number of days and the itineraries seemed to cram as many excursions in as possible. Being seniors now, we wanted to do it on our own schedule and not plan more than one activity per day. So we connected with a local travel company, Galapagos Alternative, and they arranged the activities and logistics for us.
I've categorized the pics into a number of pages by area visited, and for those who aren't interested in the family travelog, I added a section below for the best stuff. Also take a look at the videos as they show some cool underwater life.
Santa Cruz Island
North Seymour Island
South Plaza Island
Isabela Island
